Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 21, 2026
Krios Software Development Inc. (“Krios Software Development Inc.”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the SwineOps platform and the website at swineops.com (together, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and other applicable privacy laws.
By using the Services or submitting information through this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Two roles: who controls the data
SwineOps is a business-to-business platform. Our relationship to personal information depends on the context:
- When we decide how data is used — for example, visitors to our website, prospective customers who submit a demo or contact form, and the account administrators we deal with directly — we are the organization responsible for that personal information.
- When our customers use the platform, they enter operational, financial, labour, and related records that may include personal information about their own employees and contacts (“Customer Data”). For that Customer Data, our customer is the responsible organization and we act as a service provider that processes the data on the customer’s behalf and under their instructions. If you are an employee or contact of a SwineOps customer, please direct privacy requests about Customer Data to that organization; we will support them in responding.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Inquiry and marketing forms. When you request a demo, download a resource, or contact us, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, operation name, operation type and size, role, current tools, timeline, and any message you include.
- Account information. When an account is created for the platform, we collect information such as name, work email, role, organization, and authentication credentials.
- Billing information. Where applicable, we collect billing contact details and records needed to administer a subscription. Payment-card processing, if used, is handled by third-party payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
- Support communications. Records of your correspondence with us when you request help.
Customer Data you enter into the platform
Customers use SwineOps modules — including Sow & Breeding, Grow-Finish, Labor & HR, Movement & Compliance, Financial, and the Operations Hub — to record information about their operations. This may include personal information about a customer’s personnel (for example, names, roles, schedules, time records, and compliance documents). We process this Customer Data only to provide and support the Services, as described in Section 1.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. When you use the Services we may collect IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and timestamps, including for security and anti-spam purposes (such as our form rate-limiting and abuse prevention).
- Cookies and analytics. Our website may use cookies and similar technologies and, where enabled, privacy-conscious analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand site usage and improve the Services. See Section 5.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide the demos, resources, or support you request;
- To create, administer, secure, and support platform accounts and subscriptions;
- To operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
- To protect the Services against fraud, abuse, and security threats;
- To send you administrative or transactional messages (such as a reply to your form submission or delivery of a requested resource);
- With your consent where required, to send you marketing communications about SwineOps — you can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7); and
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. Consent and your choices
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. By submitting a form on this website, you consent to us contacting you in response to your request. Under CASL, a transactional reply to your submission (including delivery of a resource you requested) does not require separate marketing consent; however, ongoing marketing emails require your express opt-in, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe mechanism. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
5. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to operate the website and, where enabled, to measure and improve performance. Analytics providers may set their own cookies and process limited usage data on our behalf. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain consent before loading non-essential analytics.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers (subprocessors). With vendors who help us host, operate, secure, and support the Services (for example, cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers), under contracts that require them to protect the information and use it only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Krios Software Development Inc., our customers, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honour this Privacy Policy or notify you of any material change.
- With your direction or consent. For any other purpose disclosed to you with your consent.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information (subject to legal or contractual limits);
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each message; and
- Make a complaint about how we handle your personal information (see Section 12).
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If your request concerns Customer Data held on behalf of a SwineOps customer, we will direct you to, and assist, the responsible organization.
8. Data storage, location, and transfers
We store information on servers operated by us or our hosting providers. Depending on the provider, your information may be processed or stored in Canada or in other jurisdictions. Where personal information is handled outside your province or country, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, and authorities there. We take reasonable steps to ensure our service providers offer a comparable level of protection.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure — including encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, and authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to provide the Services, and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, after which we securely delete or de-identify it. Customer Data is retained according to our agreement with the relevant customer and is returned or deleted following termination, subject to legal requirements.
11. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for businesses and their personnel and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. How to contact us
For questions, requests, or complaints about this Privacy Policy or our handling of personal information, contact our Privacy Officer at william.petryniak@krios.ca. We will acknowledge your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
